Fun Facts:

63% of people are still keeping their resolutions after the first two months.

67% of people actually make 3 or more resolutions.

The top resolutions usually involve promises to exercise more (37%), increasing the time devoted to study or work (23%), losing weight, stop smoking or drinking (alcohol and/or coffee), and eat healthier.

People make more resolutions to start a new habit (84%) , than to break an old one (16%).

65% of people made their resolutions between the 28th of December and New Year's Day. The rest usually take up until the end of January.

Of those who successfully achieved their top resolution, 40% of them did so on the first attempt.

More Fun Facts:

The rest made multiple tries, with 17% finally succeeding after more than six attempts.

The tradition of the New Year's Resolutions goes all the way back to 153 B.C. Janus, a mythical king of early Rome was placed at the head of the calendar.

Janus became the ancient symbol for resolutions and many Romans looked for forgiveness from their enemies and also exchanged gifts before the beginning of each year.

The New Year has not always begun on January 1, and it doesn't begin on that date everywhere today.

It begins on that date only for cultures that use a 365-day solar calendar

January 1 became the beginning of the New Year in 46 B.C., when Julius Caesar developed a calendar that would more accurately reflect the seasons than previous calendars had.

A Message from the President
2010 Christmas

MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD

With the Holiday Season behind us, it's good to take a moment and reflect back on all the blessings and wonderful prosperity we enjoyed this past year. As premier medical staffing firms, both National Anesthesia Services and National Physician Staffing Inc. can look forward to much success and continued growth in 2011.

We had a lot to be proud of in 2010. After months of hard work by our entire staff, we achieved Joint Commission certification. This was, of course, due to the diligent, conscientious work of our team of true professionals. Both National Anesthesia and National Physician Staffing have the finest health care staffing personnel in the nation and the Joint Commission's gold seal of approval is a testament to that fact.

This past year you may have noticed an increased commitment to our core corporate mission of giving back to our community and to those in need. In January we established the Haiti Anesthesia Relief program to connect doctors and CRNAs with a number of reputable relief organizations working in Haiti.

In August National Anesthesia and National Physician Staffing presented Operation Iraq: The Spirit of Christmas with a check for $10,000 to help provide Christmas packages to members of the five branches of military personnel who are stationed on the front lines.

On December 6th, the National team served a holiday dinner to the homeless at Grace Centers of Hope in Pontiac, MI and on December 11th we underwrote the Bands That Jam 4 Africa Concert to help raise funds for food and education for children in Africa.

It is our corporate stand to help support the humanitarian efforts in our community and the world and I'm personally thankful to all those who volunteered to do their part to help.

As always, I trust that you will enjoy this issue of National News. Please contact me if you have comments or information that we may use in our newsletter. NATIONAL PHYSICIAN STAFFING, INC. STARTS THE NEW YEAR WITH STRONG NUMBERS

National Physician Staffing, Inc. was formed in May 2010 to meet the increased demand for Radiologists, Hospitalists, and Emergency Medicine Physicians. From its conception, NPS has developed an exceptional track record providing healthcare personnel to hospitals and clinics throughout the United States.

We have been fortunate to further serve a number of our loyal clients and have enjoyed developing new relationships across the board in medicine. Although our expansive database is rapidly expanding we still need more providers.

National is always looking for top-notch Anesthesiologists, CRNAs, Hospitalists, Radiologists, and Emergency Medicine Physicians. Check out our Referral Program mentioned in this newsletter and if you have a friend or colleague you would like to refer to National, please don't hesitate to call one of our account managers at 1-800-642-1999.

NATIONAL'S TEAM SERVES UP HOPE TO THE HOMELESS
Grace Centers of Hope

The National Team headed to Pontiac, MI on December 6th to serve meal to the homeless at Grace Centers of Hope. Those who came to dinner were grateful for the nutritious hot dinner and their broad smiles were contagious. The entire National staff was happy to be there.

Before serving dinner, we were all taken on a tour of the facility by Marilyn, the Assistant Coordinator. It was amazing to see the "miracles" that were happening there. We met men, women and their families who were once abused or addicted to drugs and/or alcohol and who now have accountability, hope and stability as a result of the Grace Centers of Hope program.

The Shelter takes in those who are homeless or disadvantaged and provides room and board, food, education and clothing for 2 years. Their philosophy is the belief that change occurs from the inside out and we saw many small changes happen before our very eyes.

Grace Centers of Hope is continuing to do renovations so that they are able to assist even more people. This includes the Hands of Hope Childcare Center, which will give them the ability to serve even more families. Currently they have 120 people living at the facility.

It was a life changing experience for each of us. Grace Centers of Hope reminded us of the true joy and satisfaction you could find by stepping out and giving the gift of time and service to others.

YOU ASKED FOR IT, SO WE'RE EXTENDING OUR $1,500 REFERRAL BONUS!

Some of you have asked how long we will be offering the $1,500 referral bonus for Anesthesiologists, CRNAs, Hospitalists, Radiologists and Emergency Medicine Physicians. We have (thankfully) experienced such an overwhelming response since incorporating our new company NPS that we have decided to extend the offer through 2011.

Your referrals for providers in these specialties are very much appreciated. Please recommend National to your colleagues and you may be eligible for a $1,500 bonus on qualified referrals. All you have to do is register your referral by phone at 1-800-642-1999 where it will be validated by an account manager.

Remember that referrals must not already be registered in National's database. Referrals may be CRNAs, Anesthesiologists, Hospitalists, Radiologists or Emergency Medicine Physicians. The amount of referral bonus is based on the length of a locum assignment and/or permanent placement guarantee.

What a great way to earn $1,500 by referring a friend or colleague to National!!

THE NEED IN HAITI CONTINUES

The problems in Haiti are ongoing and enormous. The tiny country is still struggling to get back on its feet after the January 12th earthquake. You may remember that back in January 2010 our whole office became mobilized into "command central." We sent out a plea to Anesthesiologists and CRNAs who would be willing to make the personal sacrifice of offering their services to the Haitian people. We received over 100 responses from all across the United States from doctors and nurses willing to give up their vacation time or, in some cases, to take an unpaid leave of absence to do what they could to help.

What a wonderful group of providers we have! Thanks to every one of you--those who have already gone to Haiti and to those who are planning to go.

NATIONAL SPONSORS TEEN FUNDRAISER
Bands JAM

National sponsored the Bands That Jam 4 Africa (BTJ4A) Concert on December 11th in Pontiac, MI to help raise funds to feed and educate African children.

BTJ4A is an arm of Joint Aid Management(JAM), an African humanitarian relief and development organization with 25 years of experience feeding and educating more than 500,000 children daily in 1,300 communities throughout Africa.

BTJ4A is the brainchild of 17 year-old Morgan Fisher, who at the age of only 14 conceived the idea of show casing the musicians of tomorrow in a benefit performance to help assist in JAM's mission. BTJ4A raised over $15,000 in this event, which will help provide clean water, education and food to at least 500 children.

"We have always supported the efforts of JAM," said Stephen Read, President of both National Anesthesia Services and National Physician Staffing, Inc. "I see BTJ4A as a great way for Michigan teenagers to get involved and see that they too can do something to help others."
